Simplicity 9636
Another patternhack of Simplicity 9636 View C. This has become one of my favorite patterns and a tried and true pattern (TNT). I love the versatility and fit.
Changes I made:
-Omitted the hood
-Shortened the sleeve
-Added a V-neck and v neckband
-Made a regular side slit instead of the U version
-Added side pockets and omitted the kangaroo pocket
I used a liverpool knit for the white dress with flowers. This fabric is from Hobby Lobby. The other dresses (blue, brown, and purple) were all made from activewear knit from Joann Fabrics. The brown was giving me grief. For some reason it has really bad static cling even after washing it and using a cling free sheet.
I didn't run into any other problems other than Liverpool knit has a tendency to stick to the feed dogs of the sewing machine and can cause some strands of the fabric to pull.
I've made two more in black and white polka dots liverpool knit and royal blue and white polka dots liverpool knit. I got the blue and white polka dot LP knit from a thrift store in New Orleans - RicRack Nola. I haven't photographed those dresses yet. Stay tuned.
